Ιn August 2001 a Nationwide competition was held for the long term lease of Floisvos Marina and its development so as to rise to preminence in the offering of high quality facilities and services.
The final stage of the competition was between six consortiums, each formed of leading construction, leisure and recreational companies.
The first award was given to the Triaina Marinas, consortium which included the construction companies Lamda Development and Technical Olympic and the architectural firm Dimitris Rizos Architects.
Floisvos Marina is now the leading premier class marina in Greece. It can accommodate many mega yachts, and has specially designed spaces for commercial and leisure use open to the general public.
The port facilities, combined with a low-key but distinctive architectural style, has created an internationaly recognised marina, which has become an important center for first class tourism.
56.000m2 of the marina site was redeveloped with an area of 3.000m2 dedicated to commercial and leisure outlets giving a selection of restaurants, cafes, bars and famous shops for both yacht owners and visitors to choose from.
During redevelopment 600 trees were planted and the marina site is now surrounded by 23.000m2 of greenery.
